Rosehips develop on wild rose bushes as the pink flower petals drop off in early summer and ripen throughout the summer months. The rose hip, also known as “hip berry”, is actually the fruit of the rose.
Qualities
Nutritionally, rose hips are most commonly known for their high concentration of vitamin C, making rose hip an incredible immune booster and wellness ingredient. Additionally, rose hips are found to be anti- inflammatory and supportive of healthy bones and joints. Rose hips also contain vitamins A, D, and E, flavonoids, and iron.
Rosehips are commonly used in herbal teas, syrups, and tinctures. In powder form, they can easily be added to dishes to increase nutrition, or added to juices and smoothies. This is especially great during the cold and flu season!
