Production

This extra virgin olive oil is produced by pressing whole olives. The olives are mechanically pressed (cold pressed) rather than being produced by chemical means or by altering their temperature.

Purity statement

The only ingredient is extra virgin olive oil with no other type of oil added.

Qualities

Extra virgin olive oil is unrefined and is the highest quality of olive oil available, with an oleic acid level of less than 1%. It has a rich, yellow-green color and a full-bodied flavor with hints of cut grass, almond, and fruit, with a gently spicy finish.

While extra virgin olive oil can be used for cooking, it has a lower smoke point than other oils which means that it burns at a lower temperature. Keeping it below the smoke point (375F, 191C) preserves the fullness of the flavor.

Common Use

Olive oil is a popular oil worldwide and especially in the Mediterranean. The flavor is excellent in salad dressings, sauces, and dips, and drizzled on pasta. It can also be used in many other culinary recipes. Due to its stable nature, it is often used in cosmetics and body products like soaps, face and face masks, makeup remover, and lotion.
