Common Use

Cornmeal is a common staple around the globe. Boiled cornmeal is called Polenta in Italy and is a traditional dish and bread substitute in Romania. It is also is traditionally used on pizza crusts as a slip, or release agent to allow the formed dough piece (crust) to be easily slid from the pizza or oven peel onto the deck of the oven for baking.
